This award winning Powder Room in Bexley has more space than most.
We gave it a complete overhaul without the expense of moving plumbing. We began by removing outdated floral wallpaper and vinyl tile giving us a blank slate. Next we arched out the existing vanity area to increase the scale and added a gorgeous dark blue granite counter top and under-mount sink.
As the clients grandchildren use this sink often we added the custom, box pleated, plaid skirt to hide their step stool and exposed plumbing. The same fabric is also used on the arched cornice complete with gold fringe. We love the juxtaposition of the linear plaid in an arched application. Repeating this concept, hand carved border and feature tiles achieve the curved top edge in the water closet, and set off the linear nature of the forest marble field tiles.
The new transitional chandelier and sconces help to bridge the gap between the traditional hand knotted area rug and contemporary original artwork, both incredibly rich with texture. What’s left, but the paint! We pulled the deep peacock blue and warm caramel from the fabric and rug to offset the beautiful white woodwork.
